The Prince and Princess of Wales have addressed the tragedy that unfolded at a Taylor Swift dance party in Southport, UK, where two children were killed and nine others were injured in a stabbing.
The official handle of Prince William and Princess Kate on X @KensingtonRoyal shared, “As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through. We send our love, thoughts and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack. “
The attack happened just before noon on Monday, with witnesses describing scenes of young girls, some as young as five, running in fear from the event venue. According to reports, UK Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder after what they described as a “ferocious attack” at the dance event.
They concluded their post with, “Thank you also to the emergency responders who, despite being met with the most horrific scenes, demonstrated compassion and professionalism when your community needed you most. W & C”

Merseyside Police reported that two adults, who were stabbed while trying to protect children, are among those fighting for their lives. Witnesses saw several girls lying in the street with stab wounds after the attack.
The event, a two-hour Taylor Swift-themed workshop featuring yoga, dance, and bracelet-making, was intended for children in years two through six during their summer break. The event’s online post has been overwhelmed with heartfelt tributes as people in the town try to process the tragedy.
