What Princess Kate Thinks of Prince William’s Beard
The Prince of Wales debuted his scruff last summer in a video message with Princess Catherine by his side. It was a surprising look for the next king, and the fans went wild.
Knauf told 60 Minutes Australia that if Kate doesn’t like the beard “it wouldn’t be there. I could tell you that!”
Knauf was the communications secretary to Prince William and Kate Middleton as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. So what does he think of the royal beard?
Prince William’s Beard Has People Talking
He also gives a thumbs up to the look, saying he loves it: “But I’ve talked to him about it or tried to talk to him about it. He’s like, ‘It’s here. I have a beard. No further conversation.’”
Although the majority seem on board with William’s lower facial hair, there was one dissenter early on: Princess Charlotte, nine.
William told an audience in Cape Town in November for the Earthshot Prize that his only daughter was not a fan of the beard when she first saw it. According to him “I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off.” He added that “I thought, hang on a second and I convinced her it was going to be OK.”

Now that Kate Middleton is in remission from cancer, she has been performing more public royal duties, and she complimented William during her latest outing.
The couple were at Pontypridd Market in Wales ahead of St. David’s Day, marking their first dual engagement in Wales in more than a year.
When one fan mentioned William while speaking to Kate, she replied “He’s been amazing. We’ve felt the support from everyone, so it’s meant a lot.”
The couple highlighted their baking skills during a trip to The Welsh Cake Shop where they tried to make the traditional sweet. At one point the princess asked him “How did you do that?” to which he replied “Mary Berry taught me everything I need to know.”
