Rafael Nadal has been picked by captain David Ferrer as part of the Spanish Davis Cup Finals team, as a potential reunion with Carlos Alcaraz looms.
Nadal has not competed since the Paris Olympics, where he played singles and doubles with Alcaraz, having recently withdrawn from the Laver Cup.
This followed with the aforementioned Ferrer suggesting that there was a ‘possibility’ that Nadal could return for the Davis Cup, and now that potential has been confirmed.
The Spanish lineup consists of Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion Alcaraz, Roberto Bautista Agut, 22-time major winner Nadal, Pablo Carreno Busta and doubles World No.1 Marcel Granollers.
