World tennis legend Rafael Nadal announced his retirement.
The 37-year-old Spaniard announced this on his page on the social network X.
According to the winner of 22 Grand Slam tournaments, he does not rule out that he may not finish playing next year.
“There’s a good chance that 2024 will be my last year on Tour. It’s possible that I’ll only be able to play half the year, maybe the whole year, maybe we won’t be able to go all the way…
This is exactly how the situation is at the moment and I cannot know the answers to these questions. All I can say is that I’m going to compete again.
I think it will happen, but I can’t give a 100% guarantee because ultimately I worked hard to get back to competition. If I succeed, then I will continue to enjoy what I do”, – Nadal said.
Let us recall that in the summer of 2023, Nadal underwent surgery on the iliopsoas muscle of his left leg. He has already promised to return to the court from the beginning of 2024.
Mi última reflexión tras el anuncio… 📣
