ROGER FEDERER

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer, a former world number one, recently made a special guest appearance at a Mercedes event in Shanghai. The 42-year-old has been taking a break from the sport after officially retiring last September due to persistent fitness issues.

In pictures posted on social media platform X — previously known as Twitter — Federer made an appearance as a special guest at a Mercedes event in China’s city of Shanghai wearing a gray suit.
The Basel-born is often regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of men’s singles tennis in the Open era, having won 20 Grand Slams.

His most successful competition was Wimbledon where he lifted the title eight times which is still a record in the tournament’s history.

Federer was the first men’s player in the Open era to win more than 15 Grand Slam titles. He was also the first to win 20 major titles in the men’s singles category

Roger Federer’s first major victory came in 2003 when he defeated Australia’s Mark Philippoussis in the final of Wimbledon in straight sets with a score of 7–6(7–5), 6–2, 7–6(7–3).

His last Grand Slam victory was the Australian Open in 2018 where he defeated Croatia’s Marin Cilic in a five-set thrilling final with a score of 6–2, 6–7(5–7), 6–3, 3–6, 6–1.
