King Charles issues key orders after Harry causes fresh trouble for reign
King Charles springs into action as he receives warning about Prince Harry problem
King Charles seems to have picked up the pace with major changes around the palace as the monarch continues with his weekly cancer treatments.
The king, who has been a life-long advocate of causes concerning the environment, has been in the process of making eco-friendly changes since his ascension to the throne. Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February last year.
While the monarch had been taking it easy owing to his health, he is now speeding up some big changes after Prince Harry’s latest stunt caused some major problems for his reign.
Charles has given orders for a fleet of British-made £160,000 electric Lotus car, as rumours suggest that the monarch will be ditching the age-old car brand, Bentley, if they fail to deliver an eco-friendly option.
“The King has always liked eco-friendly vehicles but seems conscious that royal claret is the right look even when off-duty,” an insider told The Sun. “It will look far more professional for the King’s personal car to match the state vehicles.”
They continued, “The Palace has hinted that if Bentley can’t make limousines for official use run on electric, then they would look at other manufacturers. The fact Lotus can produce an electric SUV in royal claret really puts them in the driving seat.”
The update comes as a New York Times report suggested that Charles’s reign is being overshadowed by family feuds rather than the important causes that he has supported all his life.
Following the explosive BBC interview of Prince Harry – in which he hurled accusations at the royal family calling his security case loss a ‘institutional stitch-up’ – royal experts warned the King of the lasting implication of his feud with estranged son.
The report said that unless Charles finds a way to heal the rift, it “could define his reign, undercutting the messages of tolerance and inclusiveness that he has long championed”.
Now it seems that the king is finally heeding the warning, but taking his own approach to shift the focus on things that matter.
