Meghan Markle’s latest announcement about As Ever was met with criticism, as fans are set for disappointment.
Meghan Markle was criticised by a commentator regarding the strategy of her lifestyle brand, after the Duchess made a cryptic comment about “stepping back” this week. The Duchess of Sussex launched her long-anticipated business in March, but her products sold out in less than 30 minutes of the shop going live.
Fans have been patiently waiting for a possible restock of Meghan’s jam, honey, flower sprinkles and various teas, however, they are set for disappointment as this week she hinted they might not get restocked any time soon as she is “exloring” other areas of interest, including fashion and hospitality, with new items expected to drop next year. Meghan told US business outlet Fast Company: “I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer’s needs are seasonally.”
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden was critical of the move, saying: “The apparent shift in emphasis adds to the aura of chaos that has surrounded the brand since its rushed launch in March last year. If you can understand Meghan’s marketing gobbledygook – the ‘learnings’ – then you are cleverer than me.”
