Leave it to Serena Williams to post a gorgeous postpartum bikini pic—and include an empowering message about self-love while she’s at it.
On Instagram, the 42-year-old entrepreneur and athlete shared a snap of herself holding her 5-month-old daughter, Adira, on a boat. The proud mom looks totally at ease in her white bikini and oversized sunglasses. She wrote, “Loving yourself is essential. I find that I have to remind myself of that self-love through all different stages in my life. Right now I love that my body is not picture perfect.”
She continued, “I love that I smell like milk—that milk sustains @adiraohanian. I love getting to know a new version of my body. It is a change, but it’s a change that has been well worth it. So start this week, knowing that you are loved, and that starts with you.”

With a silly face emoji, Serena Williams continued, “OK, now I’m about to go to the gym.”
Inspired fans filled the comments section with encouraging words. One follower wrote, “The reality of motherhood! I love it & I love that you’re sharing your journey!” Another said, “You and Adira are beautiful!!!!”
This isn’t the first time Williams has given fans a glimpse of her newborn. In December 2023, she shared a clip of herself and her 6-year-old daughter, Olympia, doing a workout with Adira. And earlier this month, the athlete posted candid photos of herself making tacos while Adira watched and played from her crib. She wrote, “Taco Tuesdays are a must in our home.”

Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their daughter, Adira, in August 2023, and they welcomed Olympia in September 2017.
When Adira was born, Ohanian marked the occasion by sharing a new photo of their family of four on Instagram. He said, “Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I’m grateful to report our house is teeming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful.”
He added, “@serenawilliams, you’ve now given me another incomparable gift—you’re the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter. I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
