Simone Biles is opening up about her mental health journey!

On Wednesday, Biles, 26, thanked her loved ones and fans for their support after winning her sixth all-around world championship gold at the 2023 World Championships in Belgium on Friday.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to fans, friends, family & partnerships who have been unwavering pillars of support throughout my mental health journey,” Biles wrote on her Instagram story on Wednesday. “Your encouragement, love and belief in me have been instrumental in my success and recovery.”

Biles added that her supporters cheering her on gave her “the strength to push through the toughest moments.” The gymnast went to say that she felt “truly blessed” for her “incredible support system, and I can’t thank you enough for being with me every step of the way.”

“Your presence in my life is invaluable, and I am deeply appreciative of your unwavering support,” Biles wrote. Concluding her message, she added that “World Championships was an absolute dream & I still can’t believe it.”

Biles – who took a two-year break to focus on her mental health following the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, now holds the record for most international gymnastics medals in the history of the sport, with 37 medals across the Olympics and World Championships.

After her big win, Biles reposted a fan’s post on X, which read: “Remember like five months ago we didn’t think Simone would ever compete again.”

“Real talk I didn’t think so either,” the star wrote with teary-eyed emojis.

During her time off, Biles tied the knot with her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens. The pair got married in a courthouse ceremony in April. That was followed by another ceremony in Cabo San Lucas with 140 guests.
