Simone Biles kissed husband Jonathan Owens on Christmas after he said he’s more of a catch than his Olympian wife.
Simone Biles gave her husband, Jonathan Owens, a sweet kiss just days after he faced backlash for saying he’s more of a “catch” than the decorated Olympic gymnast.
The four-time gold medalist posted several snaps cozying up to the Green Bay Packers player in front of a white Christmas tree –– including one of her sitting on Owens’ lap as they locked lips.
The couple wore matching plaid pajamas.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎁❤️,” Biles captioned the post, which also included a photo of them toasting a Christmas cocktail and Owens opening a Johnny Dang & Co. Fine Custom Jewelry small gift.
Meanwhile, Owens, 28, shared his own photos of Biles, 26, sitting on his lap and smiling while holding hands. In one of the pictures, Owens grins for the camera while Biles kissed him on the forehead.
“Merry Christmas everyone 💚💛,” he captioned the photos.
Despite the Instagram posts each wishing their respective followers best holiday wishes, Instagram users wasted no time commenting about his controversial comments.
“She’s the catch 😍,” one user commented under his post.
“wait who’s the guy? i only recognize simone biles the olympic gold gymnast,” another added.
“Simone Biles’ husband,” someone wrote, while another chimed in, “Mr and Mrs Simone Biles 😍.”
“Here is the most known and respected athlete in US… and there is her husband by her side 😂,” one person commented.
The gymnast and NFL player made headlines last week when he said he was more of a catch than Biles and “didn’t know who” she was before they met via dating app Raya in 2020.
“I’m like, ‘Lemme see who this is.’ I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” he said on the “Pivot” podcast earlier this month.
Owens particularly made social media users upset when he said, “I always say that the men are the catch.”
However, both Owens and Biles defended their love just two days later when Owens shared a photo of them smiling and dancing together on their wedding day.
“Unbothered 😂❤️ Just know we locked in over here 🤞🏽,” he captioned the photo.
Biles showed her agreement by commenting, “🤞🏾💋 for life” under the post.
The athletic couple tied the knot in April at a Houston courthouse before hosting an intimate wedding one month later in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
