Simone Biles, the legendary gymnast who has dominated the Olympic scene for Team USA, recently shared photos of a “birthday weekend” getaway with her husband, Jonathan Owens, who plays for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
The athlete turned 27 on March 14, but took the chance to celebrate it between March 16-17 as the couple snuck off to a luxury hotel in Houston, Texas for a much needed break and private time away from sporting schedule conflicts.
As the pair sat in the hotel room, which had a TV fixed to the wall with dark wood surrounding it and roses on the mantle below, and white bed sheets on the bed, they kicked off the “birthday weekend” with champagne and mimosas.
Then the next morning she flexed the bathroom, which had a huge glass mirror with a white towel cabinet and marble walls and surfaces. Biles rocked black gym gear and a blue hoodie in the photo, which she simply captioned, “Checked in.”
Then came the actual celebration, as she had a huge pink cake with butterflies and roses decorating it set up, with a similar theme on the cupcakes located nearby on the dining room table whilst a series of balloons, with one particularly large one having more butterflies, placed near the food.
Her husband made it clear that she is loved by decorating their bed with a plethora of rose petals, one in the shape of a big heart, with the flower itself near the edge of the bed in a romantic gesture to his wife. It was also a similar get up in the bathroom too.
“Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul, my amazing wife,” Owens wrote on Instagram at the start of the day. “So crazy to me how life aligns you with the person that you’re meant to be with, you’ve made me a better man in so many ways i can’t explain it.
“My heart, my rock and my best friend all in one. I love you so much baby, this is going to be a special year for you and i can’t wait to support you every step along the way.”
Where did they go to eat?
Of course, they’d have gotten hungry eventually and in order to continue the celebration and fill their stomachs, they took to Mastro’s steakhouse. It’s a fine dining joint and they produced a fine-looking menu which had, “Happy birthday Simone!”, written on it in a nice touch.
Biles appears to have had shellfish to eat, with a lemon in the middle and ice underneath to ensure that they stayed nice and cold as candles lit up the table.
