Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens is a safety for the Chicago Bears, and Biles has been regularly spotted at his games. After all, Owens famously traveled out to Paris to support Biles in the 2024 Olympics, so you can expect to see Biles cheering on her husband and returning the favor.
Simone Biles: ‘My Heart’
Over the weekend, Owens scored an incredible touchdown, and Biles was super proud. As the story goes, the Bears were struggling against the Tennessee Titans, when defensive lineman Daniel Hardy got through the Titans’ line and blocked a punt attempt from Ryan Stonehouse. Owens was right there. He grabbed the ball and returned it 21 yards for a Chicago Bears touchdown. That took the Bears’ 17-3 deficit to 17-10, and Solider Field went nuts. Biles, of course, saw the whole thing go down.
Sunday Night Football on NBC’s account actually tweeted out a clip of the play and tagged Biles, asking how she felt. She responded saying that she “almost had a heart attack.” She also reposted their message, which was cute. Around the same time, she actually tweeted out, “my heart.” The play seemed to help motivate the desolate Bears to a comeback, and Chicago got more points on the board with an interception return for a touchdown that earned them a 24-17 win.
I think it’s so adorable to see these two supporting each other. They’re obviously very much in love and both do everything they can to support each other. They’re also just a cute couple and always glowing when they’re in each others’ presence. I can’t think of a more perfect “power couple.” Of course, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are adorable, too, but it’s neat that Biles and Owens are both athletes and in similar professions and know each others’ worlds. I hope to see Biles on the sidelines for many more games this season, and I’m sure we’ll all see Swift at the sidelines for plenty of Chiefs games, too.
After Owens scored the touchdown, by the way, an NFL commentator actually called him “Mr. Biles.” Not sure how he felt about that one.
“Mr. Biles getting in there,” the commentator said in a video posted to Instagram, which showed footage of the Chicago Bears safety running in for a big touchdown. “Well done by him,” the sports announcer continued. There could be worse things to be called, right? Reach out to me with your thoughts on Biles and Owens.
