Starting this fall, Simone Biles, the most decorated American gymnast in history, will be in Chicago a whole lot more.
The Chicago Bears inked her husband, safety Jonathan Owens, to a two-year contract. Owens signed with Chicago after playing with the rival Green Bay Packers last season.

Last year, Biles attended quite a few Packers games at Lambeau Field. So it follows that she will also be in the Soldier Field stands come September.
Owens is the team’s latest acquisition. The Bears will add more players throughout the rest of free agency and the April NFL Draft.

Earlier this week, the team announced that it signed the following players:

Kevin Byard
On Sunday, Chicago inked the former All-Pro safety to a two-year, $15 million deal. Byard will replace Eddie Jackson, who the Bears released last month. At this point in their careers, Byard is seen as an upgrade over Jackson in terms of his coverage and run defense.

D’Andre Swift
The Bears signed a familiar face from the NFC North to take over as their leadback. On Monday, the team signed Swift, who started out with the Detroit Lions but last played for the Philadelphia Eagles, to a three-year, $24.5 million deal. Swift is a former first-round pick noted for his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.

Gerald Everett
In signing Everett to a two-year deal worth up to $14 million, the Bears acquired a legit pass-catching tight end who, at 6 feet, 3 inches, can give defenses problems in the red zone. Whoever starts at QB next season just got another weapon that should make life easier and the team’s offense better.

Jaylon Johnson
Chicago’s first significant move was to sign its young star cornerback to a contract extension last week. The Bears inked Johnson to a four-year deal worth $76 million ($54.4 million guaranteed). The team locks in one of its best players on defense.

Patrick Scales
The Bears also signed long snapper Scales, its longest-tenured player, to a contract extension. This special teams linchpin has been with Chicago since 2015.
