There seems to be some contention between two of golf’s biggest stars after Jon Rahm left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.
When members of the PGA Tour started leaving for LIV Golf after the latter professional league was launched, many of those players who made the jump were met with a lot of scorn.

It was an icy relationship between the two leagues until a shocking merger was announced.

Nothing has come out of that announcement as the PGA Tour and LIV are still separate entities playing separate events.

However, when Jon Rahm made his surprising leap over to the Saudi-backed league, he wasn’t met with as much negativity as the previous players who changed did.
Rory McIlroy, once a staunch critic of anyone who left the PGA Tour, has now backtracked on his previous comments and wasn’t publicly critical of Rahm moving.
In fact, Rahm himself said McIlroy even reached out to him.

“Rory has been supportive publicly of my decision and he was privately as well,” the reigning Masters champion said in a sit down interview with Marty Smith of ESPN.
It doesn’t seem like golf legend Tiger Woods has the same feelings.

The legendary golfer has been very outspoken against LIV Golf in his own right after turning down a ridiculous amount of money to be the face of the league.

Tiger Woods had a relationship with many of the players who left the PGA Tour for LIV, but it seems like many of those have deteriorated.

That’s the case with Rahm as well.

“Tiger? No, not really. I mean, Tiger, I texted him and the people that try to reach out, you know, the process, when I signed and I just let him know, ‘Hey, you know, this is a personal decision,'” Rahm told Smith.
The two were friends before Rahm made the leap.

Now, there hasn’t been communication.

Rahm went into more detail about his decision to ultimately leave the PGA Tour and take anywhere from $300 to $600 million to join LIV.

There are always reactions for every action and the reigning Masters champion is feeling that right now.
