Tiger Woods and ex-wife Elin Nordegren were caught sharing a rare hug after she watched him compete alongside their son, Charlie, in the PNC Championship in Orlando, Florida.
Proud parents Elin, 44, and Tiger, 48, watched Charlie, 15, sink his first ever hole-in-one during the tournament on Sunday, December 22. While the golfing legend celebrated with his son on the course with an emotional embrace, the former couple shared theirs after the match wrapped up on hole 18.
It was a family day for Tiger and Elin as not only did Charlie compete, but their daughter Sam also served as their caddie.
The rare moment of friendly affection between Elin and Tiger was captured on video and shared via Instagram by Golf on CBS, as he walked into the crowd at hole 18 and the former couple shared an embrace, before the Sweden native hugged their children as well.
Elin was present at the same tournament in 2020, watching the final round alongside Sam. While she’s kept a very low profile since her 2010 divorce from the five-time Masters champ, the former model has been hugely supportive of Charlie’s budding golfing career. She was last photographed watching him take part in pre-qualifying for The Cognizant Classic in February in Hobe Sound, Florida.
Tiger and Elin split in November 2008 after she discovered he had allegedly been having multiple affairs during their six-year marriage. The 15-time major championship winner later entered a six-week treatment program for sex addiction. Their divorce was finalized two years later.
Elin began dating former Miami Dolphins player Jordan, 36, in 2017. They share sons Arthur and Zeta, as well as daughter Freya.
Tiger told Time in 2015 how he and Elin were able to forge a friendship following their split.
“As years and years have gone by, we’re like best friends. It’s fun. She talks to me about her life, I talk to her about my life. We try and help each other out on all occasions,” the athlete told the publication. “And we work through it with the kids, the parenting program. She is one of my best friends now, and it’s all because of my kids.”
He added, “We’ve worked so hard, and I’ve shown her how much I love them. We’ve worked so hard at coparenting, to make sure that their lives are fantastic.”
