Tiger Woods

The golfer was mentioned in the court case in New York

Tiger Woods might be gearing up for a professional golf comeback after a prolonged absence in 2023. The question is, when could this return take place?

Since withdrawing from the Masters early into the year, he’s been sporadically spotted on the course but not in a competitive, professional capacity. For example, he was a caddy for his son at a recent tournament in September.

But according to Stewart Cink, the iconic legend could be set to return and restart the spark in his career at the age of 47.
“You don’t always get a whole lot out of Tiger Woods,” Cink said to Golf Channel. “But he said that he started practicing, which I think is a great sign. I don’t know what he’s practicing for, but he said he started practicing.

“So that means he’s in go-mode for something. And I think we’re all pulling for him to feel as good as he can feel, and if he’s hitting golf balls, I think he’s going in the right direction.”

When could Woods return?
Woods, in partnership with Rory McIlroy, launched a virtual golf league and is among the active roster of players. The league is set to debut in January and could represent a less physical and public chance for him to flex his swing and get a feel for the professional game once again.

Whilst he could also appear in a “real” tournament at the Hero World Challenge, which is held in the Bahamas and starts on November 30. It features some big names such as Jon Rahm but one spot is left unfilled with fans tipping Woods to occupy it.

He’s most to appear at the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, which is scheduled for December 14 although it isn’t really a competitive tournament, it’s perfect for him to spend some bonding time as father and son and to begin to get into the groove once again.
