Tiger Woods revealed part of the key to his success was to make sure he had gloves that controlled sweating as the 15-time Major champion reveals he sweats a lot when he’s on the green.

It could be down to pressure, down to the weather or simply just how he is, but the 48-year-old explained how he demands his gloves have a lot of grip to handle sweating, which particularly affects his index finger.

That’s part of why he launched his own brand, titled Sun Day Red, in partnership with TaylorMade so that he has his gloves exactly how he needs them to give him the best chance of taking one shot off his game.

“Having preparation here, because I used a lot of grip,” Woods said of his Sun Day Red gloves. “And so I tend to sweat in the index finger quite a bit because of my right hand and how it interlocks.

“So having that grip and having that ability to having it breathe is very key for usage it over to time. Having no more shots, sweating a lot, putting through gloves, or having durability in gloves is a key.

“I don’t like gloves that are too thin, and I don’t like gloves that are too heavy, or too thin. So I am very… that was a hands-on. I am very picky with how my gloves fit, and if it doesn’t fit perfectly, it alters my wrist moment throughout the golf shot, and can’t have that happen.”

When will Tiger Woods next play in a tournament?
Woods was most recently on the green at the PNC Championship where he finished second alongside his son, Charlie.

Tiger has not been spotted in a Major since April 2024 after he withdrew from the Masters and finished 60th.

He was also cut from the PGA Championship, the US Open and the Open Championship in a disappointing year for him as he chases his first Major victory since he won the Masters back in 2019.

The next chance for Woods to be swinging his driver as a professional will come at the TGL golf league he founded alongside Rory McIlroy, where he will be a part of the Jupiter Links team that will take on Los Angeles on January 14.

The first major of 2025 will the Masters from April 10-13 at the Augusta National in Georgia. Woods won the competition five times from 1997-2019.
