Fleetwood carded a final-round 68 to finish at 18-under, three shots clear of Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley. His victory earned him a $10 million payday, the largest single check of his career, and made him the second Englishman to win the FedEx Cup, joining Justin Rose (2018).
"When you've had as many near misses as I've had," Fleetwood told reporters during the post-round conference. "Three-shot lead doesn't feel like that many even on a par-5 when I've striped it down the -- you know, I'm in play."
"It definitely looked like it was finally my time but then don't want to get ahead of yourself. You've still got to hit the golf shots. Just proud to have shown that it's possible if you just keep going."
