Tiger Woods has left the possibility of a remarkable comeback to golf at the Hero World Challenge.
The competition, which is hosted by Woods, takes place in the Bahamas and gets underway on November 30.
On Monday the 47-year-old announced a stellar lineup for the competition that included Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.
The main two headline attractions, however, are Viktor Hovland and world number one, Scottie Scheffler.
Most interestingly, was that Woods announced 19 of the 20 players set to be involved, leaving one spot noticeably open.
The release of those competing stated that ‘the final tournament exemption to be announced at a later date’, sparking speculation that Woods himself could make a stunning return to action.
Woods has not featured competitively since withdrawing from the Masters in April this year, despite making the cut.
Not long after, the 15-time major winner underwent ankle surgery as a result of injuries suffered in his life-threatening car accident in 2021.
While Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas have been handed sponsor exemptions, one remaining exemption is available for Woods, should he need it for the competition.
Earlier in October, Woods was seen hitting a golf ball for the first time in six months as he was seemingly targeting a return before the end of 2023.
