Tiger Woods has gone public with his new relationship with Vanessa Trump, the former daughter-in-law of ex-US President Donald Trump
Tiger Woods’ new flame appears unfazed by the golf legend’s past indiscretions and extramarital affairs.
On Sunday, Woods put an end to weeks of speculation by publicly announcing his relationship with Vanessa Trump, the ex-daughter-in-law of the current US President. The 15-time major champion took to social media to share a series of photos featuring the couple together. He also made a plea for privacy in the wake of the intense media scrutiny that followed the collapse of his marriage to former wife Elin Nordegren.
Woods, 49, was married to the Swedish model for five years when rumors of an affair with NYC nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel began to swirl in November 2009. In the same week, stories of a heated dispute between Woods and Nordegren emerged. The golfer notoriously left their home barefoot, drove off, and subsequently crashed his black Cadillac Escalade.
Woods later released a statement accepting responsibility for the incident and requested respect for his family’s privacy and well-being. However, as more revelations surfaced, the former world No. 1 confessed to attending rehab for sex addiction after engaging in multiple affairs.
Yet, according to the Daily Mail, Trump, 47, seems unperturbed by his previous transgressions. She was married to Donald Trump Jr for 13 years before filing for an uncontested divorce in 2018, and they have five children together.
Amidst the buzz surrounding Woods’ revelation, an ex-employee expressed optimism about the news. Acknowledging that Woods was initially hesitant to disclose details, he noted that the golf icon can now embrace the romance without the burden of secrecy.
“At least this is a positive thing, just a new relationship,” he commented. “I know that Tiger didn’t want to share the news. But now that he has, there has to be some relief. Now he can just go and live his life.”
In an interesting twist, Vanessa’s daughter, Kai, who follows in the footsteps of the golf great, is gearing up to join the University of Miami next year for collegiate golf. Coincidentally, her granddad and Woods were recently seen together at a special White House event celebrating Black History Month.
