The World Wide Technology Championship has undergone a location change, relocating from Mayakoba Resort to Diamante Cabo San Lucas. This shift follows a long-standing 16-year partnership with Mayakoba Resort, which was terminated due to a multi-year agreement between LIV Golf and Diamante Cabo San Lucas, leading to the PGA Tour ending its previous agreement with the event.

Tiger Woods has not made his comeback on the course, yet the legendary golfer is set to make another kind of debut with the PGA Tour. The newest PGA Tour and Tiger Woods collaboration will host the World Wide Technology Championship in El Cardonal, Diamante, Mexico, a TGR Design creation.

Tiger Woods and PGA Tour join hands
Tiger Woods venture TGR’s first-ever completed design course El Cardonal is set to host the WWT Championship. This will be the fourth event in the PGA Tour’s fall season. The El Cardonal course was opened in 2014. This will become the first-ever TGR course to host a PGA event.

The PGA Tour’s oath of not working with organizations who do business with the breakaway Saudi-backed league has granted Woods to expand his impact on the Tour. The 82-time PGA Tour winner commented on how he designed the course and said, “I set up the golf strategy to make golfers think and make choices.“

Additionally, Woods added that every hole will serve as a different experience for golfers. “There are going to be different ways to play every hole. Angles of approach are going to be very important and will dictate the type of shots you should consider. I love this kind of golf.”

Tiger Woods’ Near-death accident stirs doubts
Tiger Woods suffered a horrible accident in 2021. It continues to haunt Woods as he is unable to play golf largely on that accident’s account. Now, after 3 years, Best Seller author, Alan Shipnuck, questioned the actual reason for the fatal car crash.

Shipnuck doubts Woods fell asleep or was using his phone as was reported at the time. He said, “He was on a residential twisty street speed limit of 40 miles an hour, going in the mid-eighties, that cannot happen if you were distracted by your phone. Or if you fell asleep, as some people speculated.”

The real reason may never make its way to the public court, yet the latest comments by Shipnuck have left fans wondering what transpired on the night of February 23.
