The U.S. President’s former daughter-in-law made waves alongside the golf icon last month when they went public with their relationship, before a recent social media post only further enhanced their bond
Vanessa Trump gave her full support to Tiger Woods this week in a telling Instagram post after the PGA Tour legend agreed a huge partnership with Augusta National.
The golf icon’s nonprofit, TGR Foundation, is partnering with the club to construct a TGR Learning Lab in the Georgia-based city, providing “access to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education and opportunities for young people to prepare for their future.” Furthermore, Woods and his team will also be creating a new nine-hole short course as part of the renovation of the Augusta Municipal Golf Course, commonly known as ‘The Patch.’
It represents a major move for the 49-year-old but the only one connecting him and the iconic golf club this week after his latest injury setback ruled him out of the Masters, which got underway on Thursday. The 15-time major winner isn’t even attending the first major tournament of the year as he steps up his long-term recovery.
Nonetheless, Woods has spoken out on his exciting new business venture, describing the partnership as “truly special” in an official statement released earlier this week. “My passion for education and golf dates back a long time, as does my relationship with Augusta National and the city of Augusta,” his statement read.
“This is a transformational opportunity to empower the next generation and deliver meaningful educational programming and access to fun and affordable golf. I am excited to work alongside Augusta National and see both projects become a reality.”
Woods uploaded the statement to his Instagram page on Monday, adding that he was “proud” of the partnership. Not long after, however, his new love interest, Trump, shared the post to her own Instagram account, tagging the TGR Foundation as she gave a timely reminder of exactly where her loyalties lie.
Vanessa echoed Woods’ sentiments by reposting his message on her Instagram story, indicating a synchronized announcement. The news has reportedly shocked Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren, while their children – including aspiring golfers Kai Trump and Charlie Woods – are said to be delighted.
The couple, who live a mere 20 minutes from each other in Palm Beach, have kids—Kai, Charlie, and Sam Woods—who all study at The Benjamin School together. Although Woods and Trump, Donald Trump Jr.’s former spouse, haven’t moved in together, she’s a frequent visitor at his Jupiter Island residence, according to a family source.
