She explained how she was only 12 years old when she and her team were having dinner at a local cafe near the tennis court where his husband was playing. When Daria’s mother asked about the sound of the throwing of a racket, Daria said, “It’s Medvedev playing. You don’t know him? We went to watch him.”
Medvedev’s aggression and spirit to fight against his opponent on the court is what attracted Daria when she first met him. “He used to fight till the end; he was prepared to do anything on court, no matter how ugly his game may look, in order to win,” Medvedeva said during the interview.
