HOLLYWOOD, CA — October arrives with a pulse-pounding lineup of Netflix originals, delivering high-octane thrillers, globe-trotting dramas and spine-tingling horror just in time for Halloween.

Leading the charge is “The Woman in Cabin 10,” a mystery thriller premiering Oct. 10. Based on Ruth Ware’s bestselling novel, the movie follows a travel journalist (Keira Knightley), who believes she’s witnessed a murder aboard a luxury cruise. She’s met with chilling denial — no one is missing, and the cabin in question doesn’t exist.

Also making waves is “A House of Dynamite,” arriving Oct. 24. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, this explosive political thriller pits military brass and government insiders against an unidentified missile threat. Expect tension, power plays and a cast stacked with heavy hitters such as Rebecca Ferguson, Idris Elba, Greta Lee and Jason Clarke.

Looking for a psychological thriller? “Ballad of a Small Player,” headlining Oct. 29. Colin Farrell stars as Lord Doyle, a desperate gambler drowning in debt on Macau’s casino floors. When he meets a mysterious woman played by Fala Chen, the stakes shift from financial ruin to existential salvation in this moody, character-driven drama.

For fans of international diplomacy and high-stakes negotiation, “The Diplomat” returns Oct. 16 with Season 3. Keri Russell reprises her role as Kate Wyler, navigating global crises and political intrigue with sharp instincts and fraying alliances.

On the lighter side, “Nobody Wants This” drops its second season Oct. 23. Starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, the offbeat comedy dives deeper into awkward encounters, fractured relationships and the kind of chaos that’s both hilarious and heartbreakingly human.

Other notable picks: “The Witcher” Season 4, with Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt; “Nightmares of Nature: Lost in the Jungle,” a horror nature docuseries narrated by Maya Hawke; “Boots,” a coming-of-age drama set in the world of underground dance; and “Is It Cake? Halloween,” a spooky spin on the viral baking competition that blurs the line between dessert and deception.

Finally, October wraps up with a nostalgic wave of beloved blockbusters and family favorites, including “Dirty Dancing,” “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” “Meet Joe Black,” “Sister Act” and the entire collections of “Austin Powers” and “Beverly Hills Cop.”
