Tiger Woods is preparing to play in the PGA Championship once again after a one-year hiatus in 2023. Woods, who withdrew from the tournament after three rounds in 2022, will make his 23rd appearance in the tournament barring any last-minute changes.
The American golfing icon had not won any major since the 2008 U.S. Open until his 2019 Masters victory. He hasn’t won the PGA Championship since 2007, though he came within two strokes of a fifth win in the major in 2018 (Brooks Koepka won that year instead).
This year, Woods will look to bounce back from a disappointing weekend at Augusta that saw him finish 60th out of the 60 players that made the cut. Still, his ability to make his 24th consecutive cut at the Masters set a new record for the major. Despite Woods’ back and lower body injuries, he proved just this year he is still a very capable pro golfer.
Here’s what to know about Woods’ opening rounds at the 2024 PGA Championship.
