She is the only sports personality on the cover of the special edition.
Edward Enninful, the outgoing editor-in-chief of the British Vogue, has put 40 famous women on the cover of the final issue with him at the helm. After six years, the Ghanaian-born Enninful has stepped down from his role as editor-in-chief. He will take up an advisory role within Conde Nast, Vogue’s parent publication. During his six-year tenure, Enninful has rubbed shoulders with pop icons and Hollywood megastars the likes of Serena Williams, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Miley Cyrus, Jane Fonda, Dua Lipa, and Kate Moss.
Enninful also swam against the tide, putting Jane Fonda on the cover of the 2019 issue dedicated to women over 50. Dame Judi Dench was the oldest person to grace the cover of Vogue when she appeared on the cover of the June 2020 issue at age 85.

Serena Williams is the only sportsperson among the forty women to find their way to the cover of the upcoming issue of Vogue. Along with elder sister Venus Williams, Serena was a big draw for the crowds during her playing days, like the “Big 3” on the men’s tour used to do. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are three of the biggest names and have dominated the game for two decades, generating a buzz whenever they turned up to play.
Serena Williams won 23 Grand Slams in her illustrious career in the singles category, an Open Era record. Margaret Court’s 24 majors are the most won by any player, with 13 of her 24 victories coming before the Open era. She bowed out of the game as the only player to achieve a ‘Career Golden Slam’ in singles and doubles.
Williams retired after the 2022 US Open, also her first major back in 1999, and will be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 2024.
The Former World No. 1 recently made an appearance at the pre-Grammys gala to introduce American rock band Green Day, scoring a personal invite from Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. WTA co-founder Billie Jean King was also among those present at the star-studded event, offering her congratulations to Taylor Swift on her win for “Album of the Year.” Swift has bagged the award a total of four times, including for her latest studio album titled “Midnights.”
