Emma Raducanu will face a tough test at Queen’s Club today with the young Brit set to go up against the top seed in the quarter-finals.
She will play Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng in the last eight, with the winner facing either Emma Navarro or Amanda Anisimova in the semis. Raducanu has already locked in a return to the top of the British rankings after beating Rebecca Sramkova in straight sets yesterday.
The former US Open champion will surpass Katie Boulter, who was knocked out by Diana Shnaider in the last eight. She won the first set but allowed her Russian opponent to fight back and claim a 2-6 6-3 6-2 victory.
It means Raducanu will return to the summit of British tennis for the first time in two years when the rankings are updated on Monday.
