Emma Raducanu has laughed off rumors linking her romantically to fellow tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, making it clear the two are just friends.
Doubles team-up intensifies Alcaraz-Raducanu speculation
The speculation kicked off on social media after it was announced the British and Spanish players would be teaming up for mixed doubles at the 2025 U.S. Open, although there had been murmurings about a possible relationship even before then. Speaking at a promotional event for a bottled water brand on Friday, Raducanu addressed the buzz with a smile.
“We’re just friends,” she said, chuckling. The two posed together for a photo shoot and hit a few balls on one of the courts at Wimbledon as part of the campaign.
The dating chatter had intensified the previous week when Raducanu was spotted in the stands at Queen’s Club during Alcaraz’s semifinal match against fellow Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.

When Alcaraz was about playing mixed doubles with Raducanu, he jokingly revealed, “She’s going to be the boss.”
“The U.S. Open gave us the chance to play together, and I’m really looking forward to it,” the Spaniard added. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve known Emma for a while and we’ve always had a good relationship.”
