Prince William and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, are at the center of President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
William and Kate greeted the president and his wife, first lady Melania Trump, as they arrived at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
William, dressed in a dark suit and tie, and Kate, dressed in a maroon coat dress and coordinating hat, shook hands with the president and first lady as they stepped off Marine One and began their second state visit in the U.K.
Trump is the first elected political leader in modern times to be hosted for two state visits by a British monarch, having already been hosted by William’s grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, in 2019.
After being greeted by William and Kate, Trump and the first lady were welcomed by King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla.
The Trumps and the royals were then taken by carriage to Windsor Castle, where they observed a ceremonial reception.
Later in the day, Charles and Camilla will host a state banquet for the Trumps in Windsor.
William and Kate are also expected to attend the state banquet.
