Actors transform into frightening characters using makeup, costumes and props then try their best to get a scare out of visitors.

“We are addicted to it,” Eggman said. “Like you every scare someone? You got a sister or something and they do that thing with their body? Once you see that about half a dozen times, that’s it you’ll be scaring people for the rest of your life.”

Dozens of people lined up waiting for gates to be open and their chance to enter one of four haunted houses and scare zones. CBS12 News was one of the first in line.

This year’s experience featured four haunted houses:

  • Watery Grave
  • The Autumn of Terror Returns
  • Nuclear beats: frenzy in the fallout
  • The Return of the Cuckoo’s Nest

The event also includes the following scare zones:

  • Scary Christmas
  • Coven of the Scorned

Fright Nights will run from Oct. 9 to Nov. 1.
