WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is behind bars after he allegedly touched a nine-year-old girl he lived in the same household with on her chest.
According to a criminal complaint from the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD), on October 7 officers responded to a report of lewd or lascivious molestation that occurred approximately three years ago.
The report says when the victim was only nine years old the suspect, identified as Mario Solis Mateo, touched her on her chest while he was intoxicated. Mateo then asked the victim if she wanted to go to Publix and had her sit on his lap.
The affidavit says while the victim sat on his lap, Mateo, 50, put his hand under her shirt to touch her chest. The victim pulled away from the victim and did not tell anyone about what had occurred.

The criminal complaint continues, a year ago Mateo approached the victim and wrapped his arms around her from behind. She immediately screamed for help, the report reads.
She told another person in the household what had happened and advised that he only touched her chest.
Officers spoke to the victim’s mother who said she was told of the incident, but advised the victim to stay away from Mateo due to him being hard to talk to when he was intoxicated. The report says when the victim’s mother did confront him he apologized and said he did not remember because he was drunk.
The report says the incident made the mother cautious leading her to stop working so she could watch the children.
When officers spoke to Mateo he confessed to touching the 9-year-old girls chest, told law enforcement that he had no intention of raping and that he wasn’t in his right mind because he was intoxicated, the affidavit reads.
Mateo was booked on felony counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.
