PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Love it or hate it, scrapple is taking center stage this weekend at Reading Terminal Market.
The “Scrapple and Apple” Festival is back for its second year.
The Action Cam was inside the Market on Friday for the ‘Scrapple Sculpting’ contest. The task: carve up creativity using this polarizing breakfast meat.
Twelve artists were given sculpting tools, a five-pound slab of scrapple, and 90 minutes to create a masterpiece.
A winner was crowned after a judge’s vote.
A second winner will be determined on Saturday after a public vote during the Scrapple & Apple Festival. The winner receives a scrapple trophy and a $100 Reading Terminal Market gift card.
The festival will feature dozens of scrapple and apple-themed bites from Market merchants, live music, and family-friendly activities.
