“Balmoral Castle, including the grounds, gardens and exhibitions, is now closed to the public”
The Balmoral Castle has announced its closure to the public amid King Charles plans with the royal family.
The announcement was made on the castle’s official Instagram handle on Sunday.
It reads, “Balmoral Castle, including the grounds, gardens and exhibitions, is now closed to the public.
“Thank you to everyone who visited the Castle and Estate during the 2026 summer season. We hope you enjoyed your time at Balmoral and left with lasting memories of your visit.”
The statement further announced that until next time, keep an eye on the social media channels for updates, including the return of the “Balmoral Castle Exclusively Highlands Artisan Market on 6, 7 and 8 November.”
The announcement came hours after royal expert Emily Andrews reported that King Charles is looking forward to a family-focused summer in Balmoral.

Later this month and next, they will host the wider royal family at Balmoral Castle, a short Land Rover ride away.
Kate Middleton, Prince William and the children –Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis –usually come at the end of August, along with Mike and Zara Tindall with their kids, plus Peter Phillips and his daughters.
The expert said, “It’s at the end of the school summer holidays, and all the kids have a great time.”
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their kids Archie and Lilibet have also been invited to the Balmoral, it has been claimed.
