King Charles and Queen Camilla visit a historic brewery as part of royal engagements.

The royal family on Thursday shared a video of King Charles drinking beer during a visit to a brewery with a cheeky caption.

“A good time to drown a few sorrows,” read the caption, which also accompanied a football emoji, referring to England’s defeat at the hands of Argentina in the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The royal family said, “The King and Queen have visited the Hall & Woodhouse Badger Brewery, marking the start of its 250th anniversary celebrations.”

King Charles has been undergoing treatment for cancer since early 2024 and it’s not known whether he had received a particular advice from doctors regarding the use of alcohol.

Founded in 1777, the brewery is today stewarded by the seventh and eighth generations of the family, according to royal family social media post.

The independent regional brewer produces over 9 million pints of beer every year across its two brands, Badger and Outland.

It said, “Hall & Woodhouse runs over 140 pubs and inns across the South of England.”
