Meghan Markle and Prince Harry want to show that “royalty doesn’t need a palace, a grand ballroom or an extravagant banquet”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have apparently landed King Charles and Prince William in new major trouble as the royal couple ‘creating their own alternative vision of modern royalty’.
Royal expert Rob Shuter has made these remarks after Meghan and Harry changed their plans regarding Christmas in US.
The couple is now planning a British Christmas for the first time in eight years, but this is about far more than family festivities, the expert said. “The Sussexes want to send a pointed message to the Royal Family by creating their own alternative vision of modern royalty.”
In his latest piece for Naughty But Nice substack, Rob Shuter has said forget gold-plated ballrooms, lavish banquets and centuries-old traditions, Meghan and Harry’s vision is built around locally sourced food, community carol singing, trips to the pub and quality family time.
“The contrast with the traditional royal Christmas at Sandringham is entirely intentional.”
Meghan and Harry want to show that “royalty doesn’t need a palace, a grand ballroom or an extravagant banquet,” the insiders told Rob. “They want to be seen as modern, accessible and connected to everyday people. This is the direction they’re taking.”
Archie and Lilibet doting parents, rather than chasing an invitation to the King’s Christmas table, appear determined to create their own royal alternative.
“And if the comparison goes their way, they may believe they’ve won a much bigger prize than a seat at Sandringham.”
