Princess Diana’s heartbreaking words during Prince William’s christening revealed.

Princess Diana was reportedly in tears at Prince William’s christening.

William was christened on Aug. 4, 1982, at Buckingham Palace, just six weeks after his birth to the then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

While the public saw a picture-perfect royal celebration, Diana later described the occasion as one of the most difficult moments of her early motherhood.

According to the book Andrew Morton’s Diana: Her True Story, the late Princess of Wales spoke candidly about feeling excluded from decisions surrounding the event while struggling with postpartum depression.

She said about William’s christening, “Nobody asked me when it was suitable for William.”

“Eleven a.m. couldn’t have been worse. Endless pictures of the Queen, Queen Mother, Charles, and William. I was excluded totally that day. I felt desperate because I had literally just given birth.

“I wasn’t very well, and I just blubbed my eyes out. William started crying, too. Well, he just sensed that I wasn’t exactly hunky dory,” Diana added as per the book.

Radar Online reported that a source who knew lady Diana at the time said, “She felt decisions were imposed on her at a time when she was physically and emotionally vulnerable.”

“There was a sense that the occasion became more about royal presentation than her wellbeing as a new mother. The distress she described shows how unsupported she felt within the institution at that point,” they added.
