Carlos Alcaraz got a new haircut during his time at home in Murcia before jetting off to Buenos Aires as he prepares for his second tournament in 2024 at the Argentina Open.
Alcaraz has been faithful to his hometown barber Victor and regularly visits his shop to keep his hair under control.
This time around the Spaniard has gone with a tighter style and will be looking sleek on the South American clay swing.
The barber shared images of the new haircut recently on his Instagram stories.
Carlos Alcaraz began his 2024 season in the Australian Open, defeating Richard Gasquet first up before beating Lorenzo Sonego to reach the Round of 32. The Spaniard was up 6-1, 6-1, 1-0 against Juncheng Shang when the Chinese player quit due to injury.
Alcaraz crushed Miomir Kecmanovic to go to the quarterfinals in Melbourne. In the last eight, he met sixth seed Alexander Zverev and was defeated in four sets.
Alcaraz, who won the ATP 250 tournament last year, will defend his title in the 2024 Argentina Open.
The Spaniard was the top seed at Buenos Aires in 2023, reaching the final with victories against Laslo Djere, Dusan Lajovic, and compatriot Bernabe Zapata Miralles.
He defeated Cameron Norrie 6-3, 7-5 in the final to win his first championship of the 2023 season.
If Alcaraz wins the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires this week, he would become the third man in the Open Era to successfully defend his title at this tournament, after Guillermo Vilas and David Ferrer.
Following the event in Buenos Aires, the Spaniard will participate at the Rio Open, where he will also the top seed and returns attempting to go one better than his runner-up finish in 2023.
Alcaraz had won the ATP 500 tournament in 2022, defeating Diego Schwartzman in the final. He also made it to the title match in Rio in 2023, but was defeated by Cameron Norrie, who avenged his setback in Buenos Aires the week before.
After the South American clay swing, Alcaraz will fly off to the United States to defend his championship at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
