Tiger Woods, the GOAT of golf, has two children, Sam Woods and Charlie Woods, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
Sam Alexis Woods, daughter of golf legend Tiger Woods, has qualified for four events at the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 1A State Track & Field Meet.
The meet will be held Saturday, May 10, in Jacksonville at the University of North Florida’s Hodges Stadium.
Sam Woods, a senior, will compete for the Benjamin School in the 100 and 400 hurdles, as well as a possible participation in the girls 4×400 and 4×800 relays. She is seeded 13th and 18th, respectively, in her two hurdles events. One of the team relays is seeded 4th.
The Benjamin Buccaneers have a good chance at the girls 1A team title. Besides Sam Woods, 17 other Benjamin girls qualified for state: Phoebe Apple, Andrea Arendts, Ella Bailey, Sofia Balistreri, Ava Bevevino, Maxine Dalton, Isabelle Downey, Jaida Fleuridor, Samantha Hill, Kate Hilzenrath, Leah Klein, Maddie Lemanski, Emma Lewis, Akari Marshall, Kamori Reddick, Ella Travers and Kayla Travers.
Other Palm Beach County schools represented at the 1A girls state track meet: Boca Raton Christian, Jupiter Christian, Oxbridge Academy, Pahokee and St. John Paul II Academy.
She was a member of Benjamin’s state championship soccer team in March — with Tiger Woods and mom Elin Nordegren in the stands cheering her and her teammates on to victory.
And here is a fun fact: Sam Woods’ state track appearance will be exactly 12 years in time and 9 miles in distance from the second round of the 2013 Players Championship, Tiger Woods’ second Players victory.
