HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A high surf advisory has been issued for the north and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said the advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The moderate long-period swell producing the waves will likely peak Monday night into early Tuesday.
Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers are urged to heed all warnings from ocean safety lifeguards.
