Prince Harry has hit back at claims that he is concerned about his brother’s future rise to power.
The Duke of Sussex’s team has hit back after he was accused of being “seriously worried” about Prince William banishing him from the UK when he becomes king.
In an interview with The Mirror, royal author Tom Bower alleged that William’s future role has placed major concerns in Harry’s mind.
“Harry is seriously worried that when his father dies one day, William will literally banish him and he will have no status in Britain at all,” Bower told the publication.
However, Harry’s team has now spoken out, saying that no such thing is true and that Harry’s interests are in reconciling with his estranged brother and dad.
”It’s funny how the people who know the least about him always have the most to say,” a spokesperson for the royal told GB News.
But, while it may appear that Harry is on the path of reconciliation with his father, King Charles, not everyone is entirely convinced.
Royal watchers were shocked last week when Meredith Maines, Harry’s Chief Communications Officer met with Liam Maguire, head of their PR team and the King’s Communications Secretary, Tobyn Andreae.
However, former press spokesperson to Queen Elizabeth II, Dickie Arbiter, has said that he isn’t buying it, claiming that the whole thing was simply “set up”.
Arbiter told Weekend Today that the meeting was due to Harry recently telling the BBC in an interview that his father “won’t speak to him”, adding that he wants a reconciliation because he doesn’t know how long his father has got.
”Now, that’s a pretty poor thing to say,” Arbiter said.
“It’s bad enough to say if you’re just a private person, but if you’re a member of the royal family or a sort of ex member of the royal family in exile, and you’re saying it on a national network on BBC, and it spins right around the world, it’s a pretty poor show.”
