Prince Andrew loses another royal perk as Prince William tightens grip
Future monarch William sends clear message to Prince Andrew: ‘It’s end’.
Prince William has not been showing any mercy to Prince Andrew, as the former Duke of York lost another big royal privilege.
King Charles’ brother has reportedly stepped back from using his personalised royal number plates on his luxurious cars.
The Mirror reported that Andrew avoided transferring “the registration plates AY02 DOY and AY03 DOY to his new £115,000 Range Rover.”
According to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the number plate AY02 DOY, which was placed in his two dark green Range Rovers, is no longer in use.
Andrew’s new purchase, also a Range Rover for £115,000, has a new number plate, KN74 EFK, instead of his “Duke of York” one.
Following his title drop, the 65-year-old appears to have been forced to stop using any kind of perks which came when he was the Duke of York.
For the unversed, on October 17, a statement released by Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Andrew will no longer use his royal title and other prestigious honours conferred upon him following the resurfaced Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Beatrice and Eugenie’s father announced that, after discussions with King Charles and other family members, a decision regarding the title was made.
Reports indicate that Prince William, the future King, played a crucial role in making behind-the-scenes moves that saved the royals from further embarrassment.
