Prince Williammade a discreet journey to Scotland this week to spend time with King Charles III, coming just two weeks after the monarch’s rare meeting with Prince Harry.
The Prince of Wales, 43, was spotted on Tuesday, September 23 arriving in Aberdeen with a duffel bag in hand, still dressed in the same suit he wore earlier in the day during a joint engagement with wife Kate Middleton in Southport. According to reports and photos from Daily Mail, William traveled to Balmoral for a private stay with his father, continuing a tradition of short getaways the two have shared since Charles became king in 2022.
The visit comes on the heels of King Charles’ September 10 tea with Prince Harry at Clarence House. That 55-minute sit-down marked the father and son’s first in-person encounter in 19 months. Buckingham Palace later confirmed the meeting, calling it a private gathering and offering no further details.
Harry, 40, has signaled he wants to repair his strained relationship with his father, telling BBC News in May that he hoped for a “reconciliation.” He later shared with The Guardian that his recent time in England made him feel “closer” to eventually bringing his children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, to visit. “Yes I would. This week has definitely brought that closer,” he said, though his security arrangements remain a sticking point.
A possible return to the U.K. has even been hinted at, according to singer Joss Stone, who spoke with Harry at the WellChild Awards in London. Stone shared with Hello! magazine that Harry praised the British school system and “how important community is for children.” She explained that her own decision to move back to England was driven by a desire to raise her kids in “a safe environment,” and noted that Harry seemed “genuinely interested” in how her family was settling in. She recalled with a smile, “Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice.”
