It’s the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday on Monday and Philadelphia has a big celebration planned, including a Blue Angels flyover.

There have been a number of ceremonies, including a wreath-laying at the gravesite of Commodore John Barry, in Society Hill. He is regarded as the father of the U.S. Navy.

Later, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral, Daryl Caudle greeted the crew of the USS Cooperstown for its “all hands call” at Penn’s Landing.

Join Action News Monday for the parade celebrating the 250th anniversaries of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

6abc will be there for the two-hour spectacle, with our own Alicia Vitarelli hosting, alongside Robert Irvine and Mary McCorvey.

Our coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. on 6abc and wherever you stream Action News.
