ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The items seen on display at any museum represent just a fraction of the items in a museum’s collection.
Out of 4,000 ivory items in the collections of the Anchorage Museum, about 75 of them can be seen in a current exhibition.
The pieces on display, some of them 120 years old, represent walrus ivory items carved for entertainment, for practical purposes, and for art.
The exhibit will be on display through next year.
