Princess Beatrice has officially stepped up her royal duties and into a role that’s clearly close to her heart.
The 36 year old has been named Deputy Patron of Outward Bound, a youth development charity with deep ties to her family, during a glittering event at St James’s Palace on Thursday.
Putting her father Andrew Mountbatten’s recent title troubles firmly behind her, Beatrice shone in a chic checked dress as she mingled with supporters and charity representatives.

The event was hosted by her uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, who’s taking up the mantle as Royal Patron of the charity, once held by his father, the late Prince Philip, from 1953 until 2019.

In one heartwarming moment, 18 year old Leo from Walsall Academy presented Beatrice with a Celtic brooch symbolising unity and good fortune, while fellow student Sadie gifted Prince Edward a rowan tree sapling.
