HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – More on the surf in a moment: An upper-level low approximately 800 miles north of the islands will move south through midweek. This will increase the chances for heavier showers and a few thunderstorms. East to southeast surface winds continue, becoming stronger from Wednesday into next weekend.

A great tool to have is our First Alert Weather App and interactive radar.

An increase in instability and low level moisture will mean heavier showers and a few thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon thru Thursday. Models do not agree on the timing of those heavier showers, but the western sides of the islands could see likely heavier showers thru at least Friday when the trade winds will return

SURF: Moderate North Shore surf today, with a new northwest swell building late today and tomorrow which will bring High Surf Advisory levels Monday and Tuesday for most North and West shores from Kauai to Maui.

Box Jelly fish influx begins today with low probability, but will be high Monday thru Wednesday. Check with lifeguards on all south and east facing shorelines.
